SNAP! DISCOGRAPHY

Penny Ford made a pivotal trip to Germany during the end of 1989 to lend her voice to a budding electronic dance group Snap!, under the production of Michael Münzing & Luca Anzilotti. Collaborating with rapper Turbo B, she contributed to the recording of the first album, which saw the release of their chart-topping hit, "The Power" in 1990. This massive single went viral, selling over 1 million copies in the United States alone.

In May 1990, Snap! officially released their debut album, "World Power," which boasted impressive rankings across numerous international music charts. The album reached number four on the Ö3 Top 40 in Austria and Switzerland's Music Chart, number seven on Germany's Media Control Charts, number ten on the UK Albumbs Chart, while standing at number twenty on Topplistan Chart in Sweden and number twenty-five on Australia's Aria Charts. The album also landed at number thirty on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States.

The NVPI awarded Snap! a gold certificate in Holland for sales exceeding 60,000 copies. The album also achieved gold certification in Austria, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Sweden, and reached platinum status in Switzerland and Germany.

The band gained further success with their second single, "Ooops," which topped international charts and sold over 500,000 copies in the US, achieving gold certification. Snap! continued to release hits, including "Mary Had a Little Boy" and "Cult of Snap," while also embarking on an international tour.

In 1991, Penny Ford wrote two songs for the band's second album, "See the Light" and "Colour of Love," before departing from the group and being replaced by Thea Austin. However, Penny returned to Snap! in 2006 and still performs as the original and official singer of the group.
